President
Mr. Paul Sorensen has led Select to achieving double-digit—and sometimes triple-digit—revenue growth over the last few years. His key responsibilities include driving corporate development through mergers and acquisitions, teaming with division presidents to grow Select’s high-margin specialty businesses, and managing Select’s overall operational and financial performance. He is also a member of Select’s Senior Operating Committee.
Paul is committed to enabling Select to dominate nationally in the same way it already dominates the California staffing marketplace. Growing or acquiring a 10-plus percentage market share coast-to-coast is a real possibility, according to Paul. This objective underpins Select’s strategy of expanding to become a multibillion-dollar enterprise within five years.
In alignment with Select’s ambitious growth goals, Paul is heavily involved with mergers and acquisitions. Along with the company’s CEO, Paul is the go-to executive for all areas of the acquisition process, from assessment and validation to negotiation. Paul also manages relationships with key financial partners, ensuring the proper facilities and financing are in place for Select’s expansion activities.
Paul’s field responsibilities include managing several of Select’s largest customers and leadership of Select’s National Accounts division. Some of Select’s most profitable regions report to Paul, and he works closely with Select’s high-margin business units RemX IT, RemX Financial, Remedy Intelligent Staffing (franchise), and Select Truckers Plus.
Paul was hired by Select in 2001 to run its San Diego and Temecula branches. He soon expanded his responsibilities to the entire San Diego region and then to other regions and all aspects of the company’s operation in general. In 2007, Paul was named president of SelectRemedy.
Prior to joining Select, Paul worked in management consulting with Computer Sciences Corporation and Booz Allen Hamilton in San Francisco and New York. He completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and with honors with a dual degree in Accounting and French Literature. He received his MBA from the Harvard Business School in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Besides being an avid surfer, Mr. Sorensen loves to spend as much time as possible with his wife and five children.
